Tankies

The 'Tankies' app doesn't require any Android permissions. Thus, there is no advertising. The app can be operated offline (airplane mode).

The 'Tankies' App stores EACH valid action of user, automatically, to internal storage. Thus, you don't have to care about saving at all. If you force-stop the app or switch off your phone, and afterwards start the app again, 'Tankies' returns to exactly the same situation where you were before.

COMPARISON OF 'TANKIES' TO CHESS

Tankies has a couple of properties that resemble those of chess, but are different at the same time.

Then there are a couple of innovative features, which can be accomplished in computerized games only.

COMPARISON OF PROPERTIES:

* Chess is black and white only. Tankies uses almost ten different COLORS.

* Chess has a fixed board size (8 x 8). Tankies has a whole RANGE of them: from 7x8 to 15x16 (the number of board sizes which are available on a specific device depend on its screen size).

* There are six types of chessmen. Tankies has SEVEN types of "tankies".

* Chessmen start out on opposing sides of the board. Tankies gather in opposite CORNERS - in front of their CAMP.

* With chess, there is a hierarchy among the figures. With Tankies, there is NONE.

* With chess, all fields are basically equal. With Tankies, there is a COUNTRYSIDE on the board.

* The aim of chess is to surround the king. The aim of Tankies is to conquer the opponent's CAMP.

* With chess, per round, one can only move ONE chessman. With Tankies, you can move ALL your tankies.

* Each type of chessman moves in a different way. With Tankies, there are only two types of movement: "heavy" tankies can move maximum TWO fields per round, the "light" ones maximum THREE.

* If chessmen hit their opponents, they move to their position. If Tankies hit an opponent, they STAY in their place.

* Chessmen which are hit, drop out permanently. Tankies can COME BACK in again.

* Chess is pure strategy. Tankies also has a LUCK component (in form of dice numbers).

INNOVATIVE FEATURES:

Note: all these features are maintained by the program automatically (and partly can be switched on or off by the user). What the user mostly does, is moving and pointing his tankies, as well as tapping through the dicing phase.

* Each of the (maximum 9) board sizes offers A THOUSAND different countrysides.

* How far a tankie may actually move (in one round) is determined by its FUEL units.

* Each field is OWNED by one of the players. The opponent's fields can be CONQUERED.

* The number of own fields determines the growth of VALUE POINTS.

* The number of value points governs the MOVING UP of dropped-out tankies.

* Own Fields are CONNECTED via other own fields to their camp (or not).

* The quality of connection ranges from GOOD to NOT EXISTING.

* The quality of connection governs RE-FUELLING and RE-MUNITIONING of the tankies..

* Fields, which are no longer in the direct neighborhood of own tankies, become INVISIBLE.

* Good and bad luck are LIMITED. This spares the user too large emotional ups or downs.

* if the user wants so, opposing tankies on invisible fields can be shown (VISIBILITY mode).

* DIFFICULTY level: ranging from 0 to 9 ((this feature is available only in SINGLE-user mode (== match against the program).
